2. The Taj Mahal in India

When you see photos of the Taj Mahal, it almost doesn’t even look like it could be real, it’s more like a painting! In 3D form, it’s just as breathtaking. The Taj Mahal (also “the Taj”) is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. The gardens, details and decoration are intricate and carefully designed, down to the tiniest detail.

3. Machu Picchu, Peru

Situated in the Urubamba Valley of Peru, Machu Picchu is an icon of the Inca World and often referred to as “The Lost City of the Incas.” The Incas started building the estate around AD 1400, pretty incredible to think that reminants of the empire are still standing, so long after! Hope you don’t mind a good hike….

4. The Pyramids Of Giza, Egypt

The Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years….and the way in which is was constructed has many theories. Can we just go with the theory that aliens did it? Who agrees?

5. The Sistine Chapel, Vatican City

Vatican City is incredible…the history, the traditions, the whole ceremony of Catholicism is beautiful and has certainly inspired some historically significant art, like the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel where Michelangelo depicts the famous “Creation of Adam” painting. You’ll literally be willing to get a cramp in your neck from looking up for an hour…you simply cannot take it all in, in one short trip.

6. The Great Wall of China

Originally built to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups such as the Xiongnu, since the 5th century BC the “great wall” has consisted of several walls built during different eras, the most historically significant during the Ming Dynasty. The views are stunning, annnd bring your walking shoes!

7. Venice, Italy

So yes, the city itself is beautiful- the canals, the piazza’s, the people… I was particularly impressed with the stunning firemen, just sayin’. Since the city is indeed sinking, you better book your trip now…

8. The Great Barrier Reef

The World’s largest reef system in the world is located in the Coral Sea off of the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia. The reef is home to a diverse number of endangered species and home to 2,9000 individual reefs. If you aren’t afraid to scuba dive (like I am, thanks sharks) then take that flight over to Australia…there’s not better place in the world to scuba dive.

9. The Grand Canyon

I always think of Clark Griswold when someone mentions the Grand Canyon, “uh huh, uh huh, uhu…” well that’s certainly not how I was when I went, I was overcome with absolute awe. The U.S. National Park in Arizona is a brilliant palate of colors and stunning sunsets. The expansiveness simply cannot be put into terms, it must be seen!

10. The Acropolis, Athens Greece

Greece is littered with historical sites but the most famous is probably the Acropolis. Study up on your Greek history and mythology for Athens is bustling with stories and is a history buff’s DREAM vacation.

11. Iguazu Falls, Argentina

Located on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentine province of Misiones. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The falls are so spectacular, Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “Poor Niagara!”

12. Bali, Indonesia

If you’re like the majority of the female population (if you’re a female) then you’ve become somewhat acquainted with Bali, thanks to the book “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert. Her words describe a serenity and culture that is undoubtedly a “must see” destination.

13. Mount Everest, Nepal

The highest mountain in the World brings flocks of mountaineers looking to complete a successful climb. It certainly isn’t an easy feat, by the end of 2009 Everest had taken 216 live. I think I’m fine looking at it from afar…

14. The Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon rainforest covers most of the Amazon Basin of South America. The west, tropical forest is the most species-rich biome with rich plant life, birds, insects and some of the largest predatory creatures….wait a second, maybe I don’t want to visit?!

15. The Amalfi Coast

I took a vacation off the Amalfi Coast and I have to say it was one of the most magical, charming, places I’ve been. The coast stretches from the coastline on the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsulua of Italy, extending from Positano in the west to Vietru sul Mare. It’s like something out of a move, absolutely magical.

16. Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park spans an area of 3,468 square miles, comprising of lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges. Yellowstone also has one of the largest super volcanoes, the Yellowstone Caldera on the continent…. The caldera is still considered an active volcano. Hm, let’s hope it doesn’t erupt….

17. San Francisco Bay

The Golden Gate Bridge is something you’ve seen a million times in TV and film, but there’s nothing like visiting it! The climate, the foliage, and Fisherman’s Wharf and the sourdough bread, definitely a “must see.”

18. Bora Bora

If I were to look up “paradise” in the dictionary, I’m pretty sure Bora Bora would be next to it. The “dream vacation” for me would be French Polynesia and I believe that I would end up living in a little bungalow over the water for the rest of my life once I finally get there…

19. Rome

The Coliseum in Rome is quite possibly one of the most incredible pieces of historical architecture that’s still standing…that you can enjoy! Not to mention the city, the art, the food….everything about Rome is intoxicating.

20. Chichen Itza

I visited Chien Itza in Mexico several years ago, climbed the steps all the way to top. The Mayan culture and history is incredibly interesting and the architecture that still stands is a wonder to be seen!

Red Panda

Who doesn’t find pandas adorable? While the white and black pandas take center stage including some sweet face time in all Panda Express commercials, there’s another species of panda that needs our attention. Also known as Fire Fox, these adorable red fur shaggy tailed animals are slightly larger than a house cat which makes them uber cute and huggable. These adorable faces, like many other animals around the world, are facing extinction due to deforestation and the number of poachers who prey on their fur. Axolotl Salamander

To anyone that adores pink things we’ve found an animal you’re going to absolutely drool over and want to help. These smiley, alien-looking cutie pies are also known as “Mexican
Walking Fish” and are found near the waters of Mexico City. What’s really cool about them is their ability to regenerate most of its body parts. How cool is that? Sadly, these amazing looking creatures are facing extinction due to habitat destruction and water pollution.
Seriously, how cute are they?

Egyptian Tortoise

One of the world’s smallest tortoise and possibly the cutest reptiles in the world, the Egyptian Tortoise, is near extinction and needs your help. These adorable creatures that reach no more than 6 inches in size are found in the arid environments of the Mediterranean coastal desert between Libya and Israel. Their miniature size, the peril of this tortoise, makes it a hot item for illegal pet traders and it is often our desire to put these adorable creatures in our home environment that leads many of them to their death. Many of them die during their stressful shipment along with the threats of exposure to foreign pathogen.

Orangutan

Seriously, how can your heart not melt at the sight of this Orangutan? Sadly, due to their decline in population these apes may not be around for a long time. Their biggest threat, deforestation, is caused by the high demand of palm oil in places like Indonesia and Malaysia. Believe it or not we, as consumers, are putting these adorable animals in danger. This palm oil, a vegetable oil, is found in 1 in every 10 products found in stores shelves including beauty products. Reports are saying that 90% of the Orangutan’s habitat has already been destroyed. If we don’t take steps to spread the word of forest conservation the Orangutans could be the first apes to face extinction. Places like the Bukit Lawang rehabilitation center in Indonesia are helping these mammals by providing them safe shelter from hunting and deforestation but they still need our help.

Iberian Lynx

These uber-cute cats are near extinction with only a few hundred living in the wild. Once found throughout the Iberian Peninsula and south of France, today their territory has reduced to the small areas of central and southwest Spain and the Algarve Mountains of Portugal. What should cause us great concern is that the Iberian Lynx is listed as a Category 1 endangered species meaning there’s only about a 100 or so still in the wild. Their lives are threaten each day by their lack of food supply but we’re also causing to their demise by setting traps for other animals around their turf and by cars as we build roads over their habitat. Seriously, we can’t do more to control their habitat?

Hawaiian Monk Seal

With their itty bitty eyes, long whiskers and peaceful nature, seals pull on every string of our hearts and we’re sad to say these adorable animals are facing extinction. When the bodies of these cute mammals are not found entangled in marine debris, they often fall prey to the deadly jaws of sharks. Due to the shortage of the marine food supply, these animals also face starvation and it is the lack of food that often leaves them weak and such an easy prey for sharks. Their biggest daily threat believe it or not is us humans who can’t seem to give them their space in the Hawaiian waters. To help protect their seals, the people of Hawaii created the Kauai Monk Seal Watch Program to create awareness and protection for these endangered creatures.

Friends, these adorable faces deserve to be around for many years. It is up to us to raise awareness and force for habitat conservation. If we don’t support the fight for the protection of all endangered animals one day they the last one of their species will take its last breath. Our future generations deserve to see these cuddly faces.

1. The “Hungry God”

My question is, who’s kitchen did they raid to make such a cool skull with utensils?! The stainless steel skull is now in the possession of a billionaire French businessman who also happens to have the most extensive collection of contemporary art. Gee, I want to know that guy?! I wonder if he bought those people new spoons?

2. “Forevertron”

This whole “park” reminds me of something you’d see in a Pixar film! That’s an incredible feat as an artist to be able to create a whole land that reminds someone of a futuristic Disney film! The artist Tom Every also known as Dr. Evermor created this entire structure out of recycled scrap metals! Forevertron itself stands 50 feet tall, 120 feet wide, 60 feet deep and weighs 320 tons.

3. The Bike Arch

I’ve always wanted to attend Burning Man and now I have even more reason to go and see an incredible piece of “art” like this. The arch was created by artists Mark Grieve and Ilana Spector, took its formation a few years back in Black Rock Desert, NV, when they were commissioned to create an “entryway” to the area where attendees of Burning Man placed their bikes! I suppose if you forgot yours, you could always just try and take one from the arch?…. Hm…do you think you could still ride these things?!

4. The “Alien”

I’ve always wondered what happens to all of the old cars that go off to the junkyard- do they just sit there and take up our beautiful land?! Well, I suppose they do in some cases and in this case artists Terrence Willment used old car parts to recreate the “Alien” from the cult classic movie, “ALIEN.” All I know if whether it’s a car or an actual alien, I wouldn’t want to run into this thing in a dark alley…..nope.

5. The “lunch” snowman

I’m not sure what’s more disturbing- the fact that there’s a snowman that probably smells like old ham, or that children eat THIS MANY LUNCHABLES. A local daycare center in Canada constructed this “snowman” with recycled lunchables, juice boxes, and other lunch products from children’s lunches. All I have to say is- how about feeding your children more FRESH FOOD?

6. The “record wave”

As a music lover and musician- I’ve accumulated a whole lot of records! I’ve also found a few spots that sell old records for 50 cents! I’ve seen plenty of recycled jewelry made out of records and even BOWLS! All you do is pop the record in the microwave, or leave it in yoru car overnight and you’ve got a cool “wavy” looking vinyl- looks like the artist knew what happens to records in heat and they created a “wave” of records….surfin’ the music wave!

7. The “house waste Elephant”

This clever artist created the recycled elephant out of standard household waste! If you think about it, what was the last thing you did with your old computers?….you should just make a crazy lawn elephant out of it?!

8. The “Gas Station

How about all of those abandoned buildings out there?! Jennifer Marsh an artist and environmentalist activist learned that there were over 200,000 abandoned gas stations across America and she deiced to turn one into a piece of art! What if we did this with all abandoned buildings?….

9. Trash people

You’ve got to be careful about what kind of trash you put into these “people” you don’t want any stinky trash, that’ll deflect people from checking out the art! There are 1000 trash men in total, all of which are constructed out of aluminum cans, computer parts, and plastic. CRAZY! That’s a lot of trash!

10. The Airplane House

The Airplane house isn’t only a residence, but it’s also a piece of ART! Instead of having a regular mobile home, the owner decided to buy an old Continental Airlines 727 and convert it into a home! In fact, she only paid $2,000 dollars for it…that’s one inexpensive piece if property!

BPA is the chemical used to create polycarbonate plastics which are usually used in the creation of water bottles, baby bottles, and the “sippy cups” for toddlers. Well isn’t that great, two of the three listed are primarily for the most fragile of us all, and it all wouldn’t matter if the chemical couldn’t leak inside into the liquids inside the containers. But of course, they do. It is said to lead to complications such as chromosome abnormalities, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and even changes in brain development ultimately leading to behavioral abnormalities.

The FDA has yet to ACTUALLY acknowledge all of the new research results coming out with these harmful affects that can come along with BPA. – Know what’s even better? Studies show 90 percent of us are exposed. Do what you want FDA, but avoiding this one isn’t helping anybody.

BP Spokesman Robert Wine stated, “At the moment, there’s no capture, no containment going on, but we’ll start up the Enterprise when it’s safe to do so.” They hope to resume oil containment from the well this afternoon. Before use, BP will use robotic submarines to look over their entire containment system to survey possible damage.

Those submarines better work quickly! I can’t stand to see those pictures of dead birds and turtles drenched in oil, every single time I log onto the internet… Make it stop!

There are so many children around us, even right in our neighborhoods, that spend Christmas without gifts under their trees. During school time, donate a few extra school supplies. The best way to make a difference in your community is to volunteer your time either during the holidays or during the weekends picking up liter and beautifying the parks. Not only will you feel good about yourself but you’ll make someone else feel good.

Save Energy

Not only would you be saving yourself some sweet moolah on your utility bills but you’ll also be helping reduce your CO2 emissions which contribute the greatest threat to our global warming. Romeo And Juliet

Our greatest love story of all time, Romeo and Juliet, teaches us the beauty and depth of young love and just how much some lovers will sacrifice for the sake of their love. Romeo and Juliet is the synonym for love. It was Shakespeare who coined the term “star-crossed lovers” in this tragic love story, a term very popular today when describing two lovers that regardless of their profound love for each other, they’re just not meant to be.

It was love at first sight for both Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Two young lovers from opposing families fall madly in love. As told in many plays and movies, we all know how their love tragically ends. Going against her family’s wishes to marry another man, Juliet, already secretly married to Romeo, takes a poison intended to put her in a death-like comma in hopes of reuniting with her beloved Romeo at the Capulet crypt. But Romeo unaware of this lays there in the Capulet crypt crying over the body of his beloved Juliet. Thinking she’s dead, Romeo decides that he can’t take another breath without Juliet by his side and drinks a poison that leaves his life-less body resting on top of Juliet. Juliet awakens to find her lover dead and unable to even think of life without Romeo she takes his poison and ends her life. There in the damp Capulet crypt laid the life-less bodies of two young lovers who chose death over a life without each other.

William Shakespeare penned the most tragic love story to ever be written and for generations beyond our sight, it will always capture tender sympathies because it will always play on the universal theme of love, hate, sacrifice, violence, and power. Even today, we still have our Romeos and Juliets, star-crossed lovers fighting prejudice and rebelling against the world all in the name of love.

Christopher And Dana Reeves

A true testament to one’s commitment to love and honor even through sickness and in health, the love story of Christopher and Dana Reeves teaches us that love endures it all even through life’s most tragic and challenging circumstances. Paralyzed from an equestrian accident in 1995, our beloved Superman, contemplated suicide but it was the love of his wife that kept him alive. In an interview he quoted her saying, “I’ll be with you for the long haul, no matter what. You’re still you. And I love you.”

During his tragedy Dana never abandoned his side and together they founded The Christopher Reed Foundation, which is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury. After Reeve’s death in 2004, Dana was at the helm of his foundation but this amazing and brave woman later endured her most challenging battle when she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2005.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono

John and Yoko’s passionate and inspiring love for each other is often shadowed by the idea that Yoko Ono broke up the Beatles. While the media spent most of their time questioning them and accusing her of killing the world’s greatest band, they failed to see the powerful message of love and peace that Lennon and Ono were trying to share with the world. From their infamous “Bed-In” for peace demonstration to many other anti-war demonstrations, Lennon and Ono spent their entire time together rallying for a better world. She may not have been the Twiggy-type but Ono was Lennon’s greatest muse. Lennon and Ono’s passion and love inspired many things even John’s most famous song, Imagine. It’s said that it was Ono’s book The Grapefruit, which contained the words “imagine” that inspired John to write what is considered his greatest musical contribution.

Regardless what the world thought of them, Lennon and Ono were happy and very much in love. Their love inspired many generations to come and in a time when being free was in fashion their passion for a better world brought us what could be considered Lennon’s most popular and touching song, Imagine.

As a “junk science” commentator for Foxnews.com, you have to be wary of anything he says. Hi Fox news, waving at you! Milloy has expressed his doubt and has consistently argued from the position of a global warming skeptic that human activity has little impact on climate change and that regulations to limit greenhouse gas emissions are unwarranted and harmful to business interests. Recently he offered a prize of $500,000 to anyone who can “prove, in a scientific manner, that humans are causing harmful global warming.” What a fool.

8. Fred Singer

Singer is Professor Emeritus of environmental science at the University of Virginia, and has said “Climate change is a natural phenomenon. Climate keeps changing all the time. The fact that climate changes is not in itself a threat, because, obviously, in the past human beings have adapted to all kinds of climate changes.” That’s right, it’s easier not to claim any responsibility!

What isn’t she a villain of, women, you should all agree….but I digress. We’ve got yet another person who doesn’t believe that man have anything to do with “global warming” as they would put it. Sarah is also one for, drill baby drill! Terrifying.

The professor of Meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is a widely known skeptic of global warming, quited as saying, “Global warming has been merely a device for implementing broader agendas.” Hm…who wouldn’t want to sit in his classroom?
